First, let us say thanks to those of you who have taken a few moments to check us out.  We all got to start somewhere right?  

So, look.  We have this new EP coming out very soon called The Rise of the Wretched, and our goal is to get it out to as many people as possible, so like many other bands that have seen the light, we are goign to let you name your own price!  If you want to secure a copy of the EP for yourself, simply send an email to junkyardempire@gmail.com and include the following information:

• The price you are willing to pay in American dollars.  NOTE:  for UK and otherwise international residents, we have to ask that you offer a minumum of about $2.50 American, so that we can effectively cover the shipping costs.  Otherwise, whatever price you name is what we will charge you. 
  
• If you have a Pay Pal account, that would be great, because we can very easily charge you that way.  When you are ready to send payment, we will tell you which email to use for that. 
• Mailing address, complete with your full name! 
  

We need all the help we can get with pushing our sound around the world, so if you know of people who would like to have our music, forward them onto us!   

Hello everyone,

Chris here. I play trombone and mess around on the keyboard in the band.  I'm just gonna cut to the chase, as they say.  We want to get out of the United States as soon as humanly possible, so that we can play some shows in the UK, France, Germany, and any other place where they realize that hip-hop is more than the knuckle-dragging chouvonistic bullshit that you hear on mainstream hip-hop statios here in the US.  To be clear:  Our style of hip-hop, which is live, jazzy, and political as hell, is relegated to protests, underground parties, and fund raisers here in the US.  Don't get me wrong, we love playing those shows, but what we love more than anything is playing for a responsive crowd of people who are not already activists and organizers.  People who just dig good music and don't need it to fit into a nice little box, dig?  

So, we need all the help we can get with hooking up with the right people in the UK who can help us book a tour.  We are looking at getting over there in the Spring of 2009, so time is of the essence.  We have plenty of promotional CD's we can send people and if you have booking contacts that you want to send out tracks to, I can send you Mp3s of whatever tracks you want!
