JOE GRIND - ‘Not Your Average Joe’

With label boss & CEO Giggs practically taking over the UK scene in 2009, it’s all eyes on SN1 so this new release from Joe Grind has been highly anticipated. ‘Not Your Average Joe’ by Joe Grind is something fresh and although it will get compared to Giggs I feel people should just take this for what it is. This is Joe Grind and he has a totally different flow, yes he goes hard like Giggs and talks on street issues as well as pain, poverty and life in urban London, as does Giggs, but he has own vibe and that’s what came across on this CD. Eighteen tracks deep, you really get value for money here. Giggs does feature on three tracks, the hard hitting ‘Black Bandana Wearer’ which also features Killa Ki, ‘Locking Up The Game’ which also features Boost and ‘Gully Trap’ which also features Gunna. Some of the solo tracks impressed me too. I love the electric guitar fused ‘Before All This’ and ‘Know About Joe’ hit hard, and ‘Lovely Day’ is super sick as Joe Grind gets his young son on a track. Very clever and very original! Make sure you get this album; it’s a must for those who like real hard, real deep road muzik.
